The development consists of 1.4 million sq. feet of retail space, a 14-screen multiplex cinema and 230,000 sq. feet of restaurants, cafes and bars; in addition to this are 600 new apartments, two hotels, offices, a five-acre car park and a public-transport interchange.
Alandale Northern’s appointment was focused on the Logistical Management of the retail fit-out and merchandising stage of the project, which required careful logistical planning and co-ordination, not only with other construction operations but also with the restrictions inherently created with working in a large city-centre location.
The challenge of successfully receiving hundreds of vehicle deliveries a day was overcome by utilising a controlled off-site holding area, with deliveries being managed by our own in-house Web-Based Delivery Management System (ADBM) for the planned unloading and subsequent distribution by our logistics management team.
