Project Overview

Alandale were appointed as Principal Contractor for the (Plot 8) Old Fire Station Project, and were responsible for the both the Envelope and Fit-out works

This former Fire Station is a four storey Grade II listed / late Victorian building. The project involved the complete refurbishment and restoration of the fire station whilst providing a
new-build four storey extension to the rear.

The restoration of the fire station involved the reconstruction of the original watch tower and overall refurbishment of the retained elevations. The ground floor of the building is dedicated to retail, whilst the remaining floors became offices.

The Full Scope of works consisted of:

  • Anodised Cladding
  • Glazed Cladding and External doors
  • 5 different Roof coverings and External Windows
  • Complete Mechanical and Electrical Installation
  • Lift Car Installation
  • Partitioning
  • Toilet Fit-Out
  • Joinery
  • Decorations

We are also very proud to have assisted the client to help the building achieve a BREEAM Rating
of Excellent.
